Broken Bow


The leaves are just beginning to change.


Tater was very unhappy that I had waded out beyond where he could still stand. It was heartbreaking to hear him whine and whimper. I was only 10ft from him, baby.



Caught a few trout on the standard copper john, soft hackle and crystal bugger. Good to see the mountains, a stream and some trout. Tater got to meet a few deer up close and personal and did his best impression of a bear/otter when he ate a trout. I tried explaining catch and release to him but the conservationist in him hasn't quite been developed.

Bassin


The fishing was slow, the water was low and clear and there wasn't a hint of wind. Fished a black llama clouser deep. Managed a few bass and stuck a pig then long line released her after a nice jump.

Pheasant Italian Peasant Soup Recipe

Italian Peasant Soup (w/ pheasant) Recipe

1lb hot turkey Italian sausage, casings removed and cut into 1" pieces
1lb pheasant breast cut into 1" cubes (or chicken breast)
2 medium onions chopped
6 garlic cloves minced
2 15oz cans of cannelini beans
1 32oz box of chicken broth
1 28oz can of diced tomatoes
1 tsp dried basil
1tsp dried oregano
6 cups chopped kale
Parmesan cheese

Cook sausage in skillet until no longer pink. Place all ingredients into pot and some fat from sausage and simmer all day. Perfect recipe for the fall season.
