3 days on Northern California's Trinity River chasing summer steelhead with my Dad and new life coach "Slim". The fish were fresh and scattered but we managed to catch some adult fish and a number of half-pounders. I love being on the river this time of year. There are no crowds, the fish are fresh from the ocean and (if they are there) are eager to pounce on big stoneflies, and the cool river breeze that smells of wild blackberries. I ate my weight in blackberries every time we stopped.
